When most people picture a "salvage yard," they picture the same thing everywhere: rows of wrecked cars sitting outdoors, and someone pulling a part off whenever a buyer asks for it. Imcar works differently — it's run as a cataloged parts warehouse with full digital inventory, not a yard full of cars. We've been parting out Mercedes-Benz vehicles since 2009, we supply original parts — from small trim pieces to full assemblies — and we ship worldwide, including to the US.
How it started
Imcar started in 2009, in a small rented garage. That winter, with zero experience, my partner Artur and I pulled apart our first car by hand — and had to learn everything at once: mechanics, sales, marketing, and writing our own listings, because there was no one else to do it.
In 2010 we made our first real bulk purchase — 10 vehicles from the US, partially dismantled there and shipped to us in a container. That's also when we deliberately narrowed our focus to Mercedes-Benz — a premium brand with a name that carries weight, not a random choice.
Before 2019, inventory was tracked in our heads. 2019 is when that changed: we moved to a digital inventory system, ran a full audit of everything that had never been properly logged — which, at the time, was almost everything — and brought in proper bookkeeping alongside it. That same year, Alexander joined as our sales manager. He's still with us today.
In 2022, the company relocated from Mykolaiv to Odesa, where we operate today.
Today the roles are split, but neither of us stepped back from the day-to-day: Artur runs the warehouse, contractor relationships, and service-shop partnerships; I handle IT, the website, sales channels, and process automation. We're still short-staffed enough that both of us stay hands-on in almost everything, from sourcing cars to talking directly with customers.
Where the cars come from
We source donor vehicles at US auctions, specifically selecting for minimal damage and low mileage. That's a deliberate choice, not a marketing line: the less wear a donor car has, the more of its parts come out in genuinely sellable condition — instead of parts that technically work but are already halfway worn out before they ever reach a customer.
Every time a new car comes in for dismantling, we post about it on the site and film it — that's not just content, it's part of being transparent about where a part actually came from before it lands on your car.
From whole car to catalogued part
Every vehicle that comes through our shop goes through nine steps before a single part hits the shelf:
1. Diagnostics — we check the condition of major components before anything is removed.
2. Full teardown and cleaning — every part is cleaned and brought to sellable condition, not left "as pulled."
3. Part-number cataloging — every part is identified against its original OEM part number.
4. Entry into inventory software — with a description and model applicability attached.
5. Labeling — every part is tagged and trackable, not loose on a shelf.
6. Photo and video documentation — we photograph literally everything, down to individual bolts; parts over $200 also get a video.
7. Photo processing and upload — the listing becomes a complete, usable product page.
8. Warehouse placement — different part categories are stored in dedicated sections, not mixed together.
9. Automated sync — our inventory system feeds the website, and the website feeds our marketplace listings, automatically.
That's the real difference between a yard and a warehouse: the part you see listed has already been diagnosed, cleaned, photographed, tagged, and shelved in a known location — it isn't "we'll pull it off the car once you ask."
Fitment you can trust — not "should fit"
We ask every customer for their VIN and check part applicability specifically against that vehicle using Mercedes Xentry Parts — the same system authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers use for parts lookup. That rules out the common problem where a part is technically the right model but the wrong trim or model year.
Our site also has a working model filter now, so you can narrow the catalog down to your exact car yourself instead of messaging support every time.
What sets us apart
· genuine OEM parts, from small components to full assemblies;
· pulled from low-mileage donor vehicles with minimal damage;
· tested on Mercedes SD Connect diagnostic equipment;
· fitment verified by VIN through the original Mercedes Xentry Parts system;
· every part photographed, parts over $200 also get video;
· parts with too little remaining service life don't go up for sale;
· a large, fully cataloged warehouse, not a scattered yard.
What we guarantee:
· genuine OEM quality parts;
· worldwide shipping, including the US — note that customs duties and import fees, where they apply, are the buyer's responsibility on international orders;
· competitive pricing;
· support by messenger, phone, or email — email included, since a lot of our international customers still prefer it as their main channel;
· convenient payment options;
· an individual approach to every order.
Imcar vs. a typical salvage yard
| Typical salvage yard | Imcar | |
|---|---|---|
| Storage | Vehicles sitting outdoors in a yard | Cataloged warehouse, every part in a known location |
| Fitment | "Should fit" by model name | Verified by VIN via Mercedes Xentry Parts |
| Inventory | Often tracked by memory or on paper | Digital system, auto-synced to the website and marketplaces |
| Part condition | Depends on weather and time spent in the yard | Cleaned and brought to sellable condition right after teardown |
| Documentation | Usually none | Photos of every part, video for parts over $200 |
| Finding a part | Usually means calling and asking | Self-service model filter on the site |
| Reach | Usually local only | Ships to Ukraine and worldwide, including the US |
Choosing low-damage, low-mileage donor cars at US auctions isn't a marketing angle — it's the same logic that runs through the whole process: the better a car's condition going in, the more of its parts we can sell as genuinely functional, instead of passing off something that technically needs work as "used." If you're not sure which part fits your car, send us your VIN — we'll confirm it and arrange shipping to the US.
